Russian President Vladimir Putin and American President Donald Trump might seem like a match made in geopolitical heaven (or at least, made in intelligence agency dossiers). Both are populist leaders known for pushing a conservative agenda and clapping back against critics—in Putin’s case with sometimes allegedly deadly force. Close observers got to see the pair in action at a Helsinki summit on Monday, and while Trump is calling it a "historic" slam dunk, major newspapers are not so sure. The Washington Post and The New York Post both wrote that Putin was the real winner, thanks to Trump denying that Russia had anything to do with his 2016 presidential election win. Trump threw his own intelligence agencies under the bus with that one, and now social media users have thrown the Putin-Trump relationship under as well, giving the pair 67 percent negative opinions online. –Hugo Guzman
