If you read the news, you might think that election season is right around the corner. Although the 2020 presidential race is still a few years away, both parties are gearing up already, with the Democrats floating potential candidates and President Donald Trump’s cheering section rallying the base. Trump supporter and former CNN commentator Kayleigh McEnany posted a video to Trump’s Facebook page over the weekend, which was made to look like authentic news broadcast. McEnany said in the video that she was delivering “the real news” and praised Trump for increased job growth. Social was certainly pleased with the break from negative coverage and is giving the “Trump TV” video 64 percent positive ratings. Not everyone was chuffed, however. Aaron Blake wrote in The Washington Post: “It is real spin, at best. And it feels a lot like real propaganda — or state TV.” –Hugo Guzman
