Tennis legends Serena Williams and Roger Federer enhanced their incredible legacies over the weekend at the Australian Open, and both are clearly favorites of Social. But in a singles match between the pair, Williams is the crowd-pleasing winner, boasting an 80 percent positive score after besting her sister Venus in their final, 6-4, 6-4. Serena wasn’t a totally unexpected victor after entering the tournament as No. 2 seed, though Venus, the No. 13 seed, pulled off a Cinderella run to the last match, her first appearance in the championship at Melbourne since 2003. “I really enjoy seeing the name Williams on the trophy. This is a beautiful thing,” Venus said after her loss. Serena, for her part, continues to stake her claim as one of the greatest of all-time, taking her 23rd Grand Slam, the most in the modern era of the sport. On the men’s side, Federer was a surprise champion after coming in as the No. 17 seed with limited success in recent months. But he delivered a five-set classic against Rafael Nadal, ultimately pulling away in three hours and 38 minutes, 6-4, 3-6, 6-1, 3-6, 6-3. Federer has a 69 percent positive score on Social, which pales in comparison with Serena’s standing, but with his 18th Grand Slam trophy in hand, he can probably live with that.
