In his short time as EPA Administrator, Scott Pruitt has amassed more scandals than entire Administrations have racked up over a four- or eight-year term. And yet he has remained in his position, mostly because President Trump and conservatives feel he’s doing a solid job on policy-related matters. Problem is, their views on what constitutes a “solid job” are in the minority compared with the rest of social media users, and Pruitt’s latest move is getting slammed. Last week, Pruitt introduced a proposal that would stop the EPA from using or referring to any sort of data—past, present, or future—in which subjects studied have been granted confidentiality. Previously, the EPA has used such data to institute environmental regulations. Subjects were given anonymity to protect their personal information, as is the case in countless studies. But Pruitt and other conservatives have hinted at some sort of conspiracy by the Left and say the move is a call for “transparency.” In reality, it would gut the amount of data available to the EPA and open the door for plenty of deregulation—great for the fossil-fuel business but perhaps not so great for the environment. Over the past seven days, “Scott Pruitt + Science” has just a 19 percent positive score on Social. –Alex Shultz
