As Brexit talks in the UK stall, a tantalizing alternative is gaining steam on Social: Pretending Brexit never happened. That’s the advice given by the Organization for Economic Cooperation & Development (OECD), which wrote in a report on Tuesday, “In case Brexit gets reversed by political decision (change of majority, new referendum, etc), the positive impact on growth would be significant.” The OECD is an intergovernmental organization representing 35 countries, including the U.S., Canada and many members of the European Union. The report also warned that if Brexit negotiations continue to be as messy as they currently are (Conservatives are having a tough time getting a withdrawal bill to the House of Commons), the results would be dire for the UK’s economy. But there’s little hope, for now anyway, of another vote. A British government spokesperson released a statement in response to OECD, writing, “We are leaving the European Union and there will not be a second referendum.” The rest of the world wishes the U.K. would reconsider: “Reversing Brexit” has an 85 percent positive score over the last 90 days. –Alex Shultz
