Online multiplayer title “Overwatch” is running its Summer Games seasonal event through Aug. 28, a move Social strongly supports. The Summer Games originated during the 2016 Summer Olympics and featured a Rio de Janeiro-themed map in addition to a soccer-ish mode called Lúcioball and special unlockable items including “skins,” which allow players to change the appearance of their favorite characters. There are no real Olympics this year, but “Overwatch” is returning an improved version of Lúcioball, a bunch of new items and a Sydney, Australia, stadium map. To earn all of the items, gamers are going to have to put some time in—they cost “credits” accumulated via leveling up (or alternatively, real money, for the impatient). On Tuesday, the first day of the Summer Games, “Overwatch” developer Blizzard was hit with a host of complaints that users were having trouble logging in. The company says things should be moving more smoothly now, but it’s clear there are quite a few people trying to play some Lúcioball this month. Over the last seven days, “Overwatch + Summer Games” has a 78 percent positive score on Social. --Alex Shultz
