It has been just over a year since Special Counsel Robert Mueller was appointed to investigate Russian meddling in the 2016 election and possible collusion with a foreign power by Donald Trump’s campaign, but it could take a few more months for the investigation to conclude – at least according to Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani. Mueller has said that the probe could be over by Sept. 1, Giuliani disclosed on Sunday, but that's only if the special counsel is able to interview Trump by mid-July. Giuliani also said on Fox News that he hopes it works out so the investigation doesn't affect Republican chances in the November midterm elections. Giuliani might be on to something if he thinks the investigation could influence voting – but not in the way many might imagine: Mueller's probe gets 67 percent negative opinions online, and a lot of those opinions could reflect Republican disgust. Trump himself has repeatedly ranted on Twitter about the unfairness of it all, and on Sunday he tweeted that he would demand an investigation into the FBI and Justice Dept., following reports that the FBI used an informant to investigate Russian contacts within the Trump campaign. –Hugo Guzman
