UC Berkeley was on fire after protestors shut down a scheduled speech by right-wing firebrand Milo Yiannopoulos. That is, literally on fire. Demonstrators threw Molotov cocktails, set property ablaze and even launched fireworks at police in an attempt to force the Breitbart editor off campus. Although Yiannopoulos was evacuated safely, the flames later spread to Social, where hatred for him burns at 90 percent negative. It’s not the first time a stop on his “Dangerous Faggot Tour” had to be canceled. In January an appearance at UC Davis was axed after protests. Yiannopoulos has often treated this type of reaction as free advertising, and last year thanked Twitter for making him famous, after it banned him for savagely attacking Ghostbusters star Leslie Jones. And as an article on New York magazine pointed out, the very name of his tour makes it clear that Yiannopoulos seeks to profit from trolling progressives.
