Lebron James has stepped into the imbroglio caused by Houston Rocket's general manager Daryl Morey's tweet supporting the Hong Kong protesters. James called Morey's tweet "misinformed" as part of his support for towing the Chinese line and staying away from the third rail of the Hong Kong protests. NBA Commissioner Adam Silver initially took a similar pro China, pro business stance and got pounded, leading to his reversal and eventual support of Morey's free speech rights. As part of his response to Morey's tweet King James tweeted "people need to understand what a tweet or statement can do to others." Perhaps Lebron should heed his own advice since his insertion into the issue has lit up social media against him where Lebron James + China is pulling 85 percent negatives over the last two days.
