After months of delays, President Trump might just be ready to fulfill one of his Israel-related campaign promises. Axios reported last week that Trump will recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel on Wednesday, a largely symbolic but nevertheless volatile move that has broad support among English-speaking social media. Trump has long indicated he wants it to be the official U.S. position that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel, a move former Presidents have strategically avoided. Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi tweeted: "Spoke with #US Secretary of State Tillerson on dangerous consequences of recognizing Jerusalem as capital of Israel. Such a decision would trigger anger across #Arab #Muslim worlds, fuel tension & jeopardize peace efforts." Trump has also indicated that he wants to move the U.S. embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, which would be viewed in the Middle East as even more provocative. For now, it appears he’s going to continue kicking the can down the road on putting that into action. Over the last 30 days, “Israel Capital + Jerusalem” has a 75 percent positive score on Social. –Alex Shultz
