There's no way around it, Dems are freaking and the GOP is salivating over the notion of Howard Schultz running as an Independent in the 2020 President race. We've seen this script before and it doesn't end well for the opposition. Ask Al Gore what he thinks about Ralph Nadar, or George H.W. Bush about Ross Perot. Both parties see the Starbucks billionaire as the 2020 spoiler. Hungry to get Schultz to toss his hat into the ring our current President taunted the Starbuck founder by tweeting "Howard Schultz doesn't have the 'guts' to run for President!" Was this the most transparent moment to date in Mr. Trump's presidency? Former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg took a serious look into running as an independent in 2016 and 2020 and came to the conclusion it was a non-starter, tweeting "In 2020, the great likelihood is that an independent would just split the anti-Trump vote and end up re-electing the President. That's a risk I refused to run in 2016 and we can't afford to run it now." Social is on Bloomberg's side as Howard Schultz is pulling 71% negatives in social media since his announcement he was considering a run. Both the Dems and GOP are yelling "Run Howard Run," just in opposite directions.
