If you’re itching for a trip to a far-away place but lack the funds to make it happen, Google Earth might be able to tide you over. The app got a massive makeover this week, and it’s hard to find many complaints about the new version. There are beautiful 3D renderings of the entire globe, which are easily scrollable with 360-degree views. The biggest addition is “Voyager,” which, as Forbes notes, is a collection of roughly 50 “interactive guided tours,” with guest speakers like Jane Goodall walking you through especially interesting destinations. You can hit the Google classic “I’m Feeling Lucky” button and be transported somewhere at random, complete with quick facts about the region you’re staring at. And there’s a share button for users to tell friends or family where they want to travel to next (or, perhaps, win a geography-related argument). Google Earth earns an 86 percent positive score on Social over the last three days.
