FCC Chairman Ajit Pai's desire to put an end to net neutrality is nothing new. Pai was a proponent of its demise when he was a FCC Commissioner, however, now that he runs the show and the FCC has a GOP majority it was pretty much a given net neutrality would eventually be toast. The wheels were put in motion on Wednesday as the FCC issued new proposed rules removing the Obama era ban on allowing ISPs to throttle bandwidth based on pay. The move pits the big pipe users (NetFlix, Google, Amazon, Gaming companies and the like) against the ISPs (Verizon, AT&T, Charter, Comcast). Social is strongly in the big pipe users' camp as FCC and Net Neutrality registered 73 percent negative on Wednesday in social media. The FCC votes on the proposed rules on December 14th.
