President Donald Trump has high goals for 2018. He has suggested that he is determined to win over some of his toughest critics by replacing the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program with a permanent path to residency for children brought to the U.S. illegally – a group dubbed “Dreamers.” Trump has been all over the map on the issue during and since his campaign, but on Tuesday he told Twitter followers that Democrats were dragging their feet on DACA and playing politics. Still, he promised Hispanics and immigration activists that he planned to get the job done. Social isn’t so sure, though. Democrats are widely seen by Social as having better ideas about DACA, netting them 53 percent positive sentiments. Republicans take home only 39 percent, possibly because Trump has made it clear that any DACA plan must include funding for the controversial wall he has long promised to build along the Mexican border. It’s important to note that neither party gets a high mark of approval, and many may well agree with the President that Dems are playing politics after all. –Hugo Guzman
