The tax battle was tough, but President Trump suggested in a tweet on Friday that now Democrats and Republicans can move forward for the good of the country. “Infrastructure would be a perfect place to start,” Trump tweeted before jetting off to Mar-a-Lago for the holidays. “After having foolishly spent $7 trillion in the Middle East, it is time to start rebuilding our country!” But what does the online crowd think of Trump’s Christmas cheerleading? It looks like the President might be better off wishing for higher approval ratings since Social is not betting on any across-the-aisle deals. Bipartisanship got 56 percent negative sentiments over the holidays, and although there are plenty of believers, most netizens apparently think it’s not a viable idea in divided Washington. Luckily for Trump, there might be one man in the Senate willing to work on this one. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell told NPR that although 2017 was not teamwork’s finest year on Capitol Hill, he thinks 2018 will shape up differently. "I hope in the new year, we're going to pivot here and become more cooperative," McConnell said. –Hugo Guzman
