At the dawn of the Trump Administration, Housing & Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson soared on Social. He was ahead of both then Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and Defense Secretary Jim Mattis in positive social sentiments last February, but the intervening year has seen him sink to one of the least popular members of Team Trump. Much of that is due to one weird furniture buy. HUD officials intended to spend $31,000 in taxpayer money on a new dining room set for Carson's office, The New York Times reported late last month. Since then, Carson has managed to dig himself into a deeper hole, first by claiming he didn't know about the purchase (which wasn't true, email records showed) and then by blaming his wife. White House Chief of Staff John Kelly said Tuesday that the table and chairs could last up to 100 years, but Social still thinks it wasn't justified. Carson gets 80 percent negative sentiments online, and some social media users have even begun to ask if the time has come for the good doctor to quit. –Hugo Guzman
