The penultimate season of Game of Thrones begins on Sunday, and among a strong cast of female characters, it appears Arya Stark is perhaps the most respected on Social. The younger Stark sister has a 63 percent positive score over the last 90 days, which far exceeds older sister Sansa Stark’s 50 percent. Only Gilly, one of the Free Folk, matches Arya’s score. The skillful warrior Brienne of Tarth isn’t far behind at 62 percent, followed by Daenerys Targaryen, also known as the Dragon Queen, at 59 percent positive. Ygritte, the long-deceased former lover of Jon Snow, maintains a 52 percent positive score despite much of the sentiment around her name being related to her death. The more recently killed-off Margaery Tyrell sits at 51 percent positive, the last of the major female characters with a score at or above 50. Melisandre the Red Woman has a 42 percent score, and the queen herself, Cersei Lannister, is all the way down at 33 percent positive. In total, there’s a higher volume of responses for the women characters on the show than the men.
