You would think that a political analyst might be able to figure out that acting like a Nazi, even in jest, is a bad idea. CNN commentator and fiercely partisan Donald Trump defender Jeffrey Lord learned that the hard way last week when a heated social media exchange with Angelo Carusone of Media Matters ended with Lord tweeting “Sieg Heil!” at Carusone. Lord said the Nazi salute was meant to be satirical, but CNN didn't think so and sacked Lord on Thursday. Lord's relationship with CNN had been on thin ice since April after he told Don Lemon that the President was the “Martin Luther King of healthcare.” Lemon was so infuriated that he shut down their discussion after chewing Lord out. Before becoming a CNN regular, Lord made waves as a writer for The American Spectator by comparing Barack Obama to Chinese dictator Mao Zedong. But the Sieg Heil was more than CNN -- and Social – could stomach. Lord's Twitter handle got 71 percent negatives after the sacking. Auf Wiedersehen, Jeffrey. --Hugo Guzman
