Two freshman House Democrats are taking up a lot of air in the room. Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib are not just the latest foils in the President's 2020 reelection bid but are getting serious pushback from Dems and the GOP for their positions against Israel's treatment of Palestinians and its influence in Washington. Tlaibm initially drew attention for her potty mouthed rallying cry to her supporters shortly after her swearing in ceremony saying " ... we’re gonna go in there and we’re gonna impeach the mother****er.” More recently, the Palestinian American Tlaib is being accused of penning a guest columnist piece in 2006 for Final Call, a publication that also publishes the writings of Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan. Ilham Omar has been equally outspoken and recently made some of the most direct direct claims of Israel's influence in Washington, including a tweet alluding to Congress' dependence on Israel's funding support saying "It's all about the Benjamins." This tweet was a bridge too far for just about everyone inside the Beltway who called on the freshman to apologize for the stereotype reference, which she promptly and unequivocally did. While each have their supporters, social on the whole is not among them where @RashidaTlaib is pulling only 23 percent positives over the last two weeks while her colleague @IlhanMN is pulling a bit better but well underwater at 34 percent positive.
