Drake might have bitten off more than he could chew this week after picking a fight with fellow rapper Pusha T. The hip-hop feud kicked off last Friday when Pusha T dropped his latest album, Daytona. One of the newest tracks, “Infrared,” made reference to a well-known criticism of Drake: That he uses ghostwriters to produce some of his biggest hits. Drake decided not to let that barb go by and responded a day later with a diss track called “Duppy Freestyle.” He went after Pusha T for being a fake drug dealer while adding that Pusha’s latest effort would get a boost in sales because Drake even acknowledged him. The song immediately garnered praise, but Pusha put out a diss track of his own that has made “Duppy Freestyle” seem like a baby slap. On “The Story of Adidon,” Pusha T revealed that Drake has a child who was allegedly going to be shown to the world as part of an impending partnership between Drake and Adidas. He also dropped a brutal line about Drake’s producer and close friend Noah “40” Shebib, rapping, “OVO 40, hunched over like he 80, tick, tick, tick / How much time he got? That man is sick, sick, sick” (Shebib has multiple sclerosis). Over the past seven days, the handle @Pusha_T has a 53 percent positive score on Twitter over the last week, while @Drake is down at 40 percent. –Alex Shultz
