Dinesh D'Souza has made a career out of making provocative statements, so it's no surprise that the right-wing darling decided to wade into the gun-control conversation that has sprung up since the Parkland (Fla.) school shooting. Some students from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School were in attendance on Tuesday when the Florida state legislature voted down a bill that would have outlawed assault weapons, and the Associated Press captured a photo of grieving teenagers as the tally was announced. In response, D'Souza fired off a series of tweets apparently designed to offend. First, he wrote, "Adults 1, kids 0." Not satisfied with how poorly that was going over, he sent another tweet 30 minutes later that read, "Worst news since their parents told them to get summer jobs." D'Souza attempted an apology on Wednesday, though it's unclear how someone who is capable of making fun of devastated teenagers and their dead friends could possibly feel genuine remorse. Still, over the past three days, the Twitter handle @DineshDSouza somehow has a 24 percent positive score. –Alex Shultz
