The day after Donald Trump is sworn in as the 45th president of the United States, hundreds of thousands of protestors will take to the streets of the nation’s capital for the Women’s March on Washington. Months in the making, the march is a direct rebuke of Trump, his newly appointed Cabinet, and his “grab her by the pussy” hot mic remarks that came to light during the campaign. In fact, many marchers will be wearing the pink hats that are a nod to GropeGate. The march's official Facebook page – which currently lists 215,000 people as attending – says it "will send a bold message to our new administration on their first day in office, and to the world that women's rights are human rights. We stand together, recognizing that defending the most marginalized among us is defending all of us.” The march has caught on in other cities as well, with tens of thousands expected to participate in Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, and elsewhere. Social is on board with the idea – 70 percent of users hold a positive view of #WomensMarch over the past 30 days. Perhaps not the warmest welcome a new president has ever received, but hey, as has been said ad nauseam, democracy is messy.
