Social loves a good story about political misdeeds, and few scoops hit harder than the Pentagon Papers, a massive 1971 leak that alleged President Lyndon B. Johnson lied to the American people about the Vietnam War. A new movie, The Post, centers on The Washington Post's publishing of the Papers and publisher Katharine Graham's fight to keep the story afloat. It's getting top marks on Rotten Tomatoes, at 88 percent Fresh. Social agrees, giving The Post 84 percent positives. But not everyone is a fan of the film. In fact, one major publication is livid, according to Vulture, a site attached to New York magazine. The New York Times, which was the paper that initially broke the Pentagon Papers story, has been snarky about the film, reporter Hunter Harris alleged on Tuesday. There might be something to that. According to Times reporters, the paper put together a presentation on the real scoop last Thursday morning. "The NYT is holding a panel on how the NYT broke the Pentagon Papers," reporter Vivian Yee wrote on Twitter. "Because we’re not outraged at all about The Post." –Hugo Guzman
