The AFC Championship game between the New England Patriots and the Kansas City Chiefs was a classic nail biter pitting Tom Brady’s experience against Patrick Mahomes’ raw talent and youthful grit. The Pats’ 37 – 31 overtime victory in a frigid Foxborough, MA was no walk in the park for the Patriots. Brady and the Pats struggled all season, ok, struggled for the typically steamrolling Patriots, and while the Chiefs came hungry for a ticket to the Super Bowl, it is hard to beat Brady under pressure. And the Chiefs put him there. The two teams put up four touchdowns and one field goal in the last 7:45, but the Pats won the OT coin toss, took possession and ended the Chief’s vision of a shot at a Super Bowl ring on a juggernaut drive. At 23 years old Mahomes is considered the strong front runner for league MVP this season and has the support of social. While Tom Brady took home the AFC crown, Mahomes took home social pulling 67 percent positives today compares to 52 percent positives for Brady who typically takes a beating in social.
