With the GOP tax plan signed into law last Friday, you might think that Donald Trump and his fellow Republicans on Capitol Hill are having a love-in. That may be partially true, but the reality is that a handful of Republican senators remain vocal critics or are at least not completely cozying up to the President – and Social seems supportive. Arizona Senators John McCain and Jeff Flake, both called out by Trump more than once, are pulling 40 percent and 51 percent positives, respectively. That makes Flake one of the most popular Republicans in office, at least as far as Social is concerned. Former presidential candidate Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) follows close behind Flake at 50 percent positives, while erstwhile Trump troll Sen. Bob Corker (R-Tenn.) matches McCain’s 40 percent. Two of the more popular Republicans are Sen. Susan Collins of Maine and Sen. Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, both of whom stood with McCain against the Obamacare repeal a few months ago. They’re at 41 percent and 37 percent positive, respectively. But could any of these stats signal a real challenge for Trump? It’s possible. There is chatter about Flake’s Presidential ambitions, with some politicos even suggesting he could trump Trump were he to run in the next Republican primaries. –Hugo Guzman
