This Tuesday will see the most anticipated political showdown in America since the 2016 presidential election. The vote to fill Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ Senate seat, which Luther Strange has been occupying on an interim basis, will be decided by Alabama voters, and the whole country will be watching because of the sexual misconduct allegations against Republican candidate Roy Moore. Democratic opponent Doug Jones has tried to capitalize on the stories of multiple women, but Moore still leads across most polls cited by RealClearPolitics. Only The Washington Post’s poll gives Jones a lead, and that’s by a paltry three points. If Social had a say in the matter, Moore would be writing his concession speech already. Jones leads on Social at 70 percent positive against Moore’s 35 percent positive. But it’s important to note that these results reflect nationwide sentiments, and although Moore has been catching plenty of flak, voters in Alabama might feel that advancing their conservative agenda is worth ignoring his alleged improprieties. Social media is usually a great weathervane for political outcomes, but it remains hard to say who will win on Dec. 12. –Hugo Guzman
