Invasive searches and arcane rules have fueled much criticism of the Transportation Security Administration in the past, but these days the headlines are dominated by a new program some say is downright Orwellian. Under the creepy moniker "Quiet Skies," the TSA identifies airline passengers who could be a danger--even if they have not been accused of any crimes or placed on the no-fly list. Undercover air marshals then follow these individuals in the airport and on flights, taking note of any suspicious behavior. Sweating, fidgeting, and even staring into space can count, but if the passenger somehow dodges suspicion, they are removed from the program within 90 days. Although no electronic surveillance is used in Quiet Skies, marshals could follow as many as 50 people each day, according to CBS News. Since The Boston Globe broke the Quiet Skies story on Saturday, online observers have slammed Quiet Skies, giving it 85 percent negatives. –Hugo Guzman
