As Donald Trump continues to careen from scandal to scandal, First Lady Melania Trump has mostly flown under the radar. Her main initiative—countering cyber bullying—has garnered some eye rolls, especially since the President often comes off as trying to push others around on Twitter. In a 2011 interview, Melania also supported Donald’s birther conspiracy theory about President Obama, though she has remained mum on that subject since. In general, her modus operandi since entering the White House has been to refrain from weighing in on most of Trump’s policies or politics. She has also been spotted swatting away her husband’s hand-holding attempts on numerous occasions (most recently in late April), and rumors have long swirled that she never wanted any part of her new life. Still, as Trump’s alleged extramarital affairs have become daily news stories, Melania has been drawn into the mix by some loyalists. On Wednesday night, new Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani admitted to Sean Hannity of Fox News that POTUS had, in fact, reimbursed his then personal attorney Michael Cohen for a $130,000 hush-money payment to porn star Stormy Daniels. Attempting some damage control on Fox & Friends on Thursday morning, Giuliani stepped in it even further, while dragging the First Lady into the matter. He said of the payment, “It wasn't for the campaign, it was to save their marr—not their marriage as much as their reputation.” Nice save. Social appears to have some sympathy for Melania Trump, and over the past 30 days the Twitter handle @FLOTUS has a 70 percent positive score. That’s 31 points higher than @realdonaldtrump over the same time span. –Alex Shultz
