Bowl season is officially upon us, meaning the College Football Playoff—now in its fourth year—is fast approaching, with the first round of action on New Year's Day. This year’s group of four contenders includes the defending champion and top-ranked Clemson Tigers, who have qualified for the playoff three consecutive times. The Tigers (12-1) scored victories over four teams currently ranked in the top 25, and obliterated the Miami Hurricanes in the Atlantic Coast Conference title game by a score of 38-3. Over the last 30 days, Clemson has a 77 percent positive score on Social. Its opponent in the semifinal is the No. 4 Alabama Crimson Tide, the only program to have qualified for the playoff in each of its four seasons. This year, however, Alabama (11-1) played a soft schedule and then lost its last game to Auburn, 26-14. The Crimson Tide has just a 41 percent positive score on Social, making Clemson the clear-cut favorite squad in that matchup. The other big game features the No. 2 Oklahoma Sooners (12-1) against the No. 3 Georgia Bulldogs (12-1). The Sooners are the winners of the Big 12, while the Bulldogs took the SEC Championship Game. Social would far prefer to see the Bulldogs move on to the title game: Georgia share’s Clemson’s 77 percent positive score, while Oklahoma is much lower at 59 percent positive. –Alex Shultz
