Born of the #MeToo movement that gained momentum in the last few months of 2017, #TimesUp is a new initiative to combat sexual harassment. On Monday it was announced that more than 300 women involved in the entertainment industry are backing the action plan, which seeks to address systemic sexual misconduct, especially for those working in low-wage service positions. The Time’s Up website lists steps anyone can take to fight sexual harassment, and donations are being solicited for a defense fund to “provide subsidized legal support to women and men who have experienced sexual harassment, assault, or abuse in the workplace and while in support of their careers.” The fund has already raised more than $13 million and has the backing of big names like Shonda Rhimes, Eva Longoria, Natalie Portman, Rashida Jones, Kerry Washington and dozens of other. Michelle Obama also tweeted out her support on Wednesday, and over the past three days, #TimesUp has a 75 percent positive score on Social. –Alex Shultz
