The latest advertising campaign by undergarment maker Aerie is getting close to unanimous support on Social. Aerie is the lingerie brand offshoot of American Eagle and has rapidly grown in popularity in recent years. Beginning in 2014, it moved away from Photoshop and airbrushed pictures of its models in favor of more relatable content. For this year’s spring collection, Aerie announced its Real Role Models campaign to promote a positive body image. It features four well-known women: Grown-ish actress Yara Shahidi, musician Rachel Platten, Olympic gold medalist Aly Raisman and model Iskra Lawrence. They’ll be front and center in Aerie's ads and will also be giving motivational speeches across the country and designing their own line of products, with 100 percent of profits going to charities of their choice. Aerie Global Brand President Jennifer Foyle wrote in a press release: “At Aerie, we believe in authentic, real beauty and never airbrush our models. Now, more than ever, we want to encourage women everywhere to feel empowered to embrace their own unique qualities and beautiful REAL selves.” Over the past three days, “Aerie” has a 94 percent positive score on Social. –Alex Shultz
