Cuomo Whupped for Questioning America’s Greatness

heard on 08.17.2018 from 30dB Editors

While President Donald Trump’s supporters have rallied around his mission to “Make America Great Again,” many progressives have decided that goal is unrealistic. Some allege that America was never all that great because of its legacy of slavery and imperialism, among other injustices. New York Governor Andrew Cuomo is discovering that whatever the truth is, the “America was never great” stance can easily turn into a stumble. Critics online and off are taking Cuomo to task for telling a crowd on Wednesday that Americans must remedy many injustices before they can aspire to greatness. According to CNN, that drew an immediate reaction from the crowd, which was echoed via social media as the story developed. Trump called the statement part of a “meltdown,” while Cuomo’s Republican re-election challenger, Marc Molinaro, has said that the governor should issue an apology. Social media users agree, with 84 percent of reactions negative calling Cuomo a “drunk,” a “tyrant,” or just plain bashing him. –Hugo Guzman
